Mine Water Treatment

WYG, incorporating the capability and experience of IMC Consulting Ltd in 2004, has a long and established career dealing with environmental and mining projects. The former IMC staff have over 25 years experience in the design and construction of mine water treatment schemes. They have designed and supervised construction of a significant proportion of mine water treatment schemes completed in recent years.

In the last 11 years IMC/ WYG have completed over 10 mine water treatment, each project with a final construction cost valued in excess of £1M for the Environment Agency and the Coal Authority. Pioneering projects completed have included construction of large wetlands and the treatment of acid rock drainage by 'passive insitu' using compost materials instead of active chemical processes, a potentially lower cost alternative. IMC/ WYG experience has been at the 'cutting edge' of responsibility for feasibility report, the selection of the treatment process, detailed project design, supervision of design and construction and the ongoing maintenance of the working system.

WYG provides design and management consulting services worldwide in the following fields:

WYG also provides consulting services in mining and metallurgy, civil and structural engineering, contaminated land investigation and reclamation, and ecology and conservation management.
